The First Ever SandBox Jam - in the sandbox!
And now for something completely different...
An all-day long party celebrating local musicians and artists at the SandBox Inn, South Padre Island.
Sunday, July 17 from 2 -11 PM
It's On! The SandBox Inn tribute to local entertainers. Expect great music on the stage, sand sculpting in the sandbox, food, drink and an open pool table upstairs at the inn for all to enjoy. Everyone is welcomed - invite your friends!
My nefarious, not-so-well-hidden agenda: to record footage for an awesome SandBox Inn/South Padre Island video. I want a happy party atmosphere happening and I want YOU and YOUR SMILING FACE helping me show how much fun we are having here on South Padre Island.
We will hope to utilize the large, shady back yard, but no worries if it rains -- we will just move it upstairs.
Note to music/art fans:
This is essentially an all-day long party! Listen to some great music; play in the sandbox; shoot some pool and enjoy some good food and drink. There is no charge, but contributions to the potluck (eatable and drinkable) will be welcomed -- and feeding the tip jar will be a great way to show your support for local artists.
Well-mannered children are welcomed - please be aware that the 3 resident dogs will be roaming the property, seeking ear scratches and treats from all they meet.
Note to Artists:
All entertainers are welcomed to participate (music, magic, comedy, etc!)
We will place the tip jar in a prominent position and encourage visitors to feed it. Whatever we collect will be divided up equally between everyone who performs.
The house PA will be set up along with two mics. You should be able to just plug and play.
In between times will be filled in by song circles, so please plan to stick around a bit after your performance if you can.
Interludes: Are you a 1-trick pony? Got one song; one good joke, one interesting story? We will be happy to showcase your talent in between the longer shows. Come prepared to perform!
SandBox Inn Video: If you would like to be featured in the SandBox Inn song video, try to be here at the proscribed times and sing, strum or beat something. It is a very simple song;) Mug for the camera! Have fun with it!
Note to Everyone:
Parking will be a challenge. Walk, bike or WAVE if at all possible. If you have a sticker that allows you to park on the side, you're golden (but make sure all 4 tires are off the road.) Or enjoy a tasty treat at Blackbeards' and utilize their large, friendly parking lot for a while.
